About
Amy L Lagina is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the Kellogg Eye Center. She currently practices at the West Ann Arbor Health Center. She joined the faculty in 2011 with a dual appointment with Michigan Medicine and the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System.
Dr. Lagina graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology, Lyman Briggs College. She completed her optometric degree at the Illinois College of Optometry. Prior to joining the faculty at the Kellogg Eye Center, Dr. Lagina was in private practice with a multidisciplinary practice in Chicago providing comprehensive optometric care including pre-and post-operative consultations for cataracts and refractive surgery. Additionally, she was Clinical Instructor with the Department of Ophthalmology at the Northwestern Feinburg School of Medicine.
She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is involved in the Academic Center Medical Special Interest Group. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association and Michigan Optometric Association. She has published articles with the Optometry and Visual Science Journal of the American Academy of Optometry and other articles with Review of Optometry and Review of Cornea and Contact Lens. She is a peer-reviewer for the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Lagina provides comprehensive optometric care including diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, evaluations for glasses, contact lenses, specialty contact lenses including specialty fitting for keratoconus, irregular astigmatism, post-surgical, and multifocal designs
