Child & Teen Activity Centers
The Child & Teen Activity Centers at U-M Health are designed to be a safe environment for patients and families to relax and focus on having fun.
Healing Through Play
Activity centers are located on the 12th, 11th, and 7th floors of our inpatient units, in addition to our infusion clinic, and surgical unit. Each activity center is staffed by Child and Family Life professionals trained in child development. We offer numerous arts and crafts, make believe items, medical play tools, board games, toys and video games for all ages.
For teens, we offer a special teen activity room stocked with teen-specific activities that are not offered in the all-ages activity rooms. The teen activity center is open to all patients ages 13 to 20 and is located on the 7th floor.
Patients and families are also encouraged to visit our Michigan Game Day Experience, an indoor playground for patients and families located on the 8th Floor, and the hospital’s Family Center, located on Level 2 of the hospital.
Child & Family Life
The Child & Family Life team at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital provides stress-reducing services such as medical play and expressive therapies to help children and families cope with hospitalization. This interdisciplinary team ensures emotional and developmental support is integrated into pediatric care.
