Orientation and Map Layout

This map details Floor 9 of the Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital University of Michigan Health.

• Compass Direction: On this map, North is directed toward the left side of the page. This means East is up, West is down, and South is toward the right side of the page.
• Pathways: The accessible route for the public is represented by a network of interconnected light beige Public Pathways. All patient reception areas, birthing centers, maternity units, and waiting lounges are color-coded in green.

Southwest Corner (Elevator 6, Reception A, & Reception B)

• Elevator 6: Located at the southernmost point (bottom-middle of the page) of the public pathway network.
• Moving Westbound (Down the page) from Elevator 6: Turning left (West) immediately from Elevator 6 leads down a hallway.
  • Stairs: A set of Stairs sits directly on the pathway at the very far western end of this corridor.
  • Reception B - Obstetrics Gynecology: Moving West from Elevator 6, the first green suite on the right (North) side of the corridor is Reception B. It has two dark blue Entry/Exit triangle markers pointing inward from the pathway.
  • Reception A - Obstetrics Gynecology Procedure: Continuing past Reception B along the western corridor, the final green suite on the right (North) side is Reception A. It features a dark blue Entry/Exit triangle marker pointing inward.

Central Hub (Elevator 7 & Diagnostic Centers)

• Moving Northbound (Left across the page) from Elevator 6: Following the public pathway straight North from Elevator 6, you pass a set of Stairs on your left, followed immediately by a set of Restrooms on your left, and another set of Stairs just past that.
• Elevator 7: The path opens into a central hub featuring Elevator 7 on your right.
• Family Waiting & Information: Directly North of Elevator 7, a small cutout in the pathway contains a Family Waiting area and an Information desk icon.
• Fetal Diagnostic Center: The green area directly West (down the page) of this information desk is labeled the Fetal Diagnostic Center. It has a dark blue Entry/Exit triangle marker pointing inward from the pathway near the Family Waiting area.
• Birthing Center Triage: Located directly to the right (East/up the page) of the central hub pathway is a large green department labeled Birthing Center Triage, which features an inward-pointing Entry/Exit triangle marker.
• Family Waiting (Southeast branch): A short path branching South from the Elevator 7 hub leads to an additional Family Waiting area.

Northern Network (Maternity Care East Wings)

Past the Fetal Diagnostic Center and Birthing Center Triage, the pathway splits into a grid to service the northern Maternity Care rooms.

• Stairs: On the westernmost northbound corridor, a set of Stairs sits directly on the pathway.
• Maternity Care 9E-01 to 9E-09: This westernmost corridor provides direct access to the green sector labeled Maternity Care 9E-01 to 9E-09.
• Maternity Care 9E-10 to 9E-19: Located at the far northwestern loop of the pathway grid (top-left section of the page). A set of Stairs sits directly on the pathway at the absolute northernmost tip of this wing.
• Family Waiting and Restrooms (Northeast block): Within the upper-middle pathway loop of this northern grid, there is a Family Waiting area containing a set of Restrooms and a set of Stairs at its eastern edge.
• Maternity Care 9E-20 to 9E-30: Located in the green wing extending out to the upper right (North/East) section of the map layout.

Eastern Network (Maternity Care West Wing)

If you move East (Up the page) past the Birthing Center Triage, the pathway turns Northward to service the easternmost side of the floor.

• Family Waiting and Restrooms (East): Along this eastern pathway, you pass a small cutout on the right containing a Family Waiting area and a set of Restrooms.
• Stairs: A set of Stairs sits directly on the pathway at the far northeastern corner of this loop.
• Maternity Care 9W-31 to 9W-50: The entire large green area running along the far eastern and southeastern edge of the floor plan is labeled Maternity Care 9W-31 to 9W-50. This section is accessed by a looping rectangular pathway that connects back toward the southern Family Waiting area.
