    • The Comprehensive Ophthalmology & Cataract Surgery Service at the U-M Kellogg Eye Center provides medical and surgical care for all types of conditions of the eye and surrounding structures, both routine and urgent. 

    Our Approach

    We provide primary eye care, including evaluation and treatment of cataracts, and screening and management for patients with diabetes or glaucoma. Many other conditions that affect vision and ocular health are treated by Comprehensive Ophthalmology. 

    When necessary, physicians in the Comprehensive Ophthalmology Program will refer patients to and coordinate care with other ophthalmology subspecialists.

    Advanced Testing to Support Your Care

    When you get your eyes checked at the U-M Kellogg Eye Center, you may be sent to specialized testing areas like ophthalmic ultrasound, ophthalmic photography, or diagnostic visual electrophysiology. These advanced tests will provide more detailed information than a regular eye exam to help detect problems early, confirm a diagnosis, and guide your treatment plan.
