In the latest US News ranking, University of Michigan Health's adult hospitals have been named among the nation's very best.
U.S. News and World Report evaluates hospitals for its annual Best Hospitals list by analyzing data from over 4,000 hospitals on a range of criteria, including patient experience, outcomes, care-related factors, and expert opinions from physician surveys.
For 2026-27, the hospitals of the University of Michigan’s academic medical center were named among the nation’s very best hospitals, including being ranked the #1 hospital in Michigan, and among the top 20 hospitals in the nation in four specialties.

National Rankings by Specialty (Adult)
University of Michigan Health-Inpatient Rehabilitation at Chelsea Hospital, a joint venture between U-M Health and Trinity Health, was also ranked No. 44 nationally for rehabilitation care.
