Pokemon Go at Mott

Pokémon Go® has become very popular among our patients and families. Finding and capturing Pokémon is a great opportunity to get up and move around, connect with other patients and families, and explore public areas of the hospital.

Pokémon around C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital

Family members may enjoy checking out Pokémon at the nearby University of Michigan Arboretum, a popular spot for many of the more rare Pokémon. Maps of the arboretum are available in the Family Center on Level 2. Take a walk, enjoy your surroundings, and catch ‘em all!

Important Guidelines for Pokémon Go Play

There are a few guidelines we ask that our patients, families and visitors keep in mind, however:

  • Please be careful not to take photos that have other patients, family members or other guests in them.
  • Please note that by posting photos of Pokémon in Mott, you are divulging information about your location.  Consider whether you are comfortable sharing this information with others online.
  • Please be aware of your surroundings.  Do not walk while looking at your phone, and please be careful not to stop in the middle of hallways and public areas.
  • Please limit your Pokémon hunting to common areas of the hospital.

A few remaining guidelines for Internet and COVID safety before participating in Pokemon Go:

  • Do not use your personal name when creating user names on video games and/or apps. For added Internet safety, there are also parent accounts available. Learn more about parent accounts here.
  • Please maintain social distancing while walking in and around the hospital
  • Remember that masks or face coverings are still required for all staff, patients and visitors while inside Michigan Medicine facilities and the courtyard area, regardless of vaccination status.
