Duchenne Multidisciplinary Clinic
Duchenne Multidisciplinary Clinic
The Duchenne Multidisciplinary Clinic at University of Michigan Health offers exceptional, coordinated care for individuals with Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophies. It is sponsored in part by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and is held at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital, on the first Thursday of each month.
Our Approach
The multidisciplinary clinic allows patients to be seen annually by several specialists at once, eliminating the need for multiple appointments and allowing the different specialists to coordinate care. Distinguishing characteristics of this clinic are proactive communication and the comprehensive management of each patient’s care. The clinic provides treatment and therapy recommendations, orthotic design, breathing evaluation, on-site echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart), genetic counseling, and wheelchair adjustments for patients with Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophies.
The clinic team is made up of the following specialists:
