Polycystic Kidney Disease
What is Polycystic Kidney Disease?
Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a genetic condition in which fluid-filled cysts develop in the kidneys over time. These cysts can enlarge the kidneys and interfere with their ability to filter blood properly. PKD can affect one or both kidneys and may worsen gradually, sometimes leading to high blood pressure, kidney pain, or reduced kidney function.
