Solid Tumor Oncology Second Opinion Program
Solid Tumor Oncology Second Opinion Program
A medical second opinion is a valuable resource when you are faced with a solid tumor diagnosis and choices regarding your treatment options. The Solid Tumor Oncology Program at Mott Children’s Hospital offers second opinion consultations for families whose child has been given a diagnosis of a suspected solid tumor.
Our Approach
Second opinions are a normal step in the cancer management and treatment process. Our physicians will work with you and your referring physician to confirm your diagnosis and discuss treatment recommendations. Should you decide to work with our team for your treatment, our goal is always to work collaboratively with referring physicians and incorporate care that is close to your home whenever possible.
Your second opinion consultation will include consultations with some of the leading experts in solid tumor diagnosis and treatment.
We know that a diagnosis of a solid tumor can be a frightening thing for your family, and that time is of the essence. When you call for a second opinion consultation, a member of our team will schedule you for your initial consultation as soon as possible and work with you to obtain any information in advance that can help us prepare for your consultation.
