Bubble Wands

star-shaped wand craft sits in bubble solution

What You’ll Need:

colorful beads, cookie-cutters and pipe-cleaners sit on a table
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Plastic cookie cutters (we recommend basic and not too intricate shapes)
  • Beads that fit on the pipe cleaners
  • Bubble solution
  • Container to pour the bubble solution in and lay your wand in

Instructions:

Step 1: Take a pipe cleaner and one of the cookie cutters and wrap the pipe cleaner around the outside edge of the cutter (see photo). You’re using the cookie cutter as a stencil to bend the pipe cleaner into that shape. Remove the cookie cutter once your shape has been fully formed.

Step 2: Attach another pipe cleaner around the center and bottom of your shape (see photo) to create the handle/wand.

Step 3: String beads onto the handle/wand to help make it a little more sturdy and easier for you to hold. Once you have strung beads on the entire handle, fold over the end and tuck it around your beads to secure the beads (see photo).

Step 4: Fill your container with bubble solution. Lay the shape portion of the wand into the bubble solution.

Step 5: Experiment with lightly blowing the solution out of the wand shape, waving it through the air, etc. Experiment with different wand shapes to see which creates the best bubbles!
