Blood and bone marrow transplant along with Cellular therapy and gene therapy are personalized treatments for cancerous and non-cancerous blood diseases. U-M Health is at the forefront of these treatments as a long-standing clinical care team offering it as standard of care as well as in ongoing clinical trials to help bring the latest options to patients.
Our Approach
U-M Health offers advanced treatment options for those with hematologic cancers and other blood disorders. Treatments are made up of BMT, gene therapies, CAR T, and other cellular therapies.

Blood & Marrow Transplant (Pediatric) and Cellular Therapy (Pediatric) programs are available for both adult and pediatric patients at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.

Through groundbreaking basic, translational and clinical research efforts, the University of Michigan has become an international leader in understanding and responding to the particular risks and consequences associated with BMT and cellular therapies.
In particular, Rogel Cancer Center researchers are at the forefront of the study and treatment of graft-vs.-host disease (GVHD), one of the most common and dangerous consequences of allogeneic transplantation. Along with early clinical trials for CAR T-cell in pediatric and adult patients.
