About
Dr. Arnold is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Section of Pediatric Surgery. She received her medical degree and general surgery training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She pursued additional training in clinical research at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed fellowship training in pediatric surgery as well as surgical critical care at the University of Michigan. Dr. Arnold is board certified in general surgery, pediatric surgery and surgical critical care.
Dr. Arnold is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association as well as of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.
Dr. Arnold is the Associate Program Director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship.
Clinical Specialization: Dr. Arnold's practice includes all areas of general pediatric surgery including congenital anomalies and minimally invasive surgery. Her particular clinical and research interests focus on the surgical and medical management of intestinal failure and short bowel syndrome. She is the Surgical Director of the Children’s Intestinal Rehabilitation Program.

Research Overview
Dr. Arnold’s performs clinical and outcomes research particularly as it relates to the treatment of short bowel syndrome and intestinal failure. She is the principal investigator of a multi-center randomized controlled trial evaluating lipid restriction as preventative therapy for parenteral nutrition-associated liver disease in surgical neonates. This research is currently funded by an R01 grant through the FDA Orphan Drugs Grant program which will allow for long-term neurodevelopmental assessment.
