About
Dr. Turnier is a Licensed Psychologist with the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Psychology at the University of Michigan Health System. He works within the Integrated Behavioral Health program and specializes in the delivery of brief, problem-focused behavior interventions for a myriad of behavioral health concerns. Dr. Turnier also works in two multidisciplinary clinics in collaboration with the Division of Rheumatology, specializing in the assessment and treatment of mental/behavioral health issues among patients diagnosed with a chronic rheumatic illness. He completed his internship and 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System. He is actively involved in research, quality improvement initiatives, and program development.

Research Overview
Dr. Turnier had done research in adherence to medical regimens and executive functioning among children and adolescents diagnosed with epilepsy. Dr. Turnier is currently interested in the implementation and dissemination of evidence-based mental health treatment for children and adolescents with chronic disease as well as in primary care, and the identification of risk and protective factors for positive treatment outcomes. Dr. Turnier's research has been informed by extensive experience as a mental health provider within a primary care, and hospital-based multidisciplinary setting.
