Family Medicine

Family medicine physicians provide a wide range of life-long care for patients, from newborns to seniors.

Your Michigan Answer for Family Medicine

Health care is easier when your whole family can see the same expert team, for life. Families often choose family medicine specialists as their primary care doctors, and the team they reach out to first for wellness, injury and illness care. In addition to primary care, family medicine includes a full range of pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric and OBGYN services, including care for pregnancy and childbirth.

The U-M Health Family Medicine team has been a national leader since 1978.

Our team provides primary care, minor outpatient procedures, sports medicine care, acupuncture, allergy injections and EKG services, all in one place. From conception to delivery, we also offer complete OBGYN service and family planning. Best of all, you’re treated by providers that know and care for your whole family.

We’re committed to health equity and supporting our community, including the underserved. That mission drives our specialty programs including Japanese health, deaf health care and community health services.

Getting sick doesn’t always happen during business hours. We offer after-hours care, E-visits and an after-hours phone service.

Get coordinated family care for life, from a dedicated team, at U-M Health.
