About
Dr. Lombel sees patients in the outpatient setting for longitudinal care for a variety of kidney disorders. Her clinical care also includes in-hospital service on the general care floors and in the intensive care units. She is the service chief for the Pediatric Nephrology division. Dr. Lombel’s other interests include quality improvement, patient safety and medical education.
Dr. Lombel earned her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency training and pediatric nephrology fellowship at the University of Michigan.

Research Overview
Dr. Lombel’s research interests focus on acute kidney injury, fluid overload and continuous renal replacement therapy in critically ill pediatric patients. She is also interested in quality improvement particularly in the area of medication errors at the time of transfer of care.
