Dr. Hughes is a faculty member in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the Department of Surgery. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley and her Masters in Public Health at Brown University before matriculating at Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL for medical school. Dr. Hughes gained 6 years of surgical and research training at Rush University Medical Center and John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago. She then completed two years of Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH.
She is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, American Society of Breast Surgeons, Association of Women Surgeons and Association for Academic Surgery.
Clinical Specialization:
Her clinical practice is focused on general surgical oncology, with a specific interest in breast cancer as well as melanoma and other cutaneous malignancies.
