Dr. Reema Hasan MD, is a heart failure and transplant cardiologist who currently sees patients at the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center and the University of Michigan Livonia Health Center. Dr. Hasan enjoys the chance to make a positive impact in the lives of her patients and chose her specialty for the chance to form long-lasting relationships with these patients. Trilingual in English, French and Arabic, Dr. Hasan is working on learning Spanish and Italian and tries to travel whenever possible. Before joining the cardiology team at the University of Michigan, Dr. Hasan received her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan and then completed her cardiology fellowship at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. She then subsequently completed her subspecialty training in Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant at the University of Michigan. She believes that this diverse background, starting on an island with a 30-mile radius to passing through urban and suburban centers, has helped her understand a diverse patient population and has allowed her to become the physician she is today. She values the importance of the doctor-patient relationship and patient and family centered care.
