About
Dr. Andrew Grim attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, during which he commissioned into the United States Navy. He then completed his Pediatric Residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California. After residency he completed two tours of duty as a general pediatrician: the first at the Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan, and the second at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego where he served as the General Pediatric Clinic Division Officer. He came to the University of Michigan for his fellowship in Pediatric Rheumatology and is now a faculty member in the department.
His clinical interests include the evaluation and treatment of the wide spectrum of pediatric rheumatic diseases with a special interest in chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis, autoinflammatory diseases, the use of point of care musculoskeletal ultrasound in aiding diagnosis and management. Dr. Grim also has a strong focus on medical education, with interest in innovative ways to bring pediatric rheumatology education to resource limited areas.
Dr. Grim lives just north of Ann Arbor with his wife and five children. They enjoy spending time at the numerous MetroParks and exploring the bountiful nature of Michigan.Areas of Practice

Andrew Grim, M.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatric Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Grim completed his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, followed by his residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. He worked as a general pediatrician in the U.S. Navy, serving in San Diego and Yokosuka, Japan. Dr. Grim completed his Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship the University of Michigan.
