    Hanh N. Cottrell, M.D., is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist with expertise in infertility/fertility care, assisted reproductive technology/IVF, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS) and endometriosis. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine, where she also completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology. She then completed fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Emory University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Cottrell’s clinical practice is rooted in evidence-based, patient-centered care, guided by the partnership between patients and their care team. She believes the patient care experience is the heart of their work and is committed to creating a thoughtful, collaborative environment where patients feel heard, respected and supported throughout their fertility journey. She values the human connection with patients and strives to provide care that reflects excellence, compassion, and expertise, embodying the Michigan difference through innovation, service and meaningful impact.

    After practicing in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Cottrell returned home to the Midwest and joined University of Michigan. She is excited to help launch the Eisenberg Troy Center for Specialty Care and to be part of a bright, dedicated team that expands access to high quality fertility care. She looks forward to working alongside clinicians, nurses, and staff to deliver amazing care as part U-M, the leaders and best.

    Dr. Cottrell has been recognized for her academic achievement, teaching, and leadership with honors including the Philip S. Willis Award from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and the Daniel G. McMurtrie MD Teaching Award from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, invited lectures and national scholarly presentations in reproductive medicine. She is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society.
