About
I completed my undergraduate degree at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and embarked on my journey to the Caribbean to earn my MD at Saba School of Medicine. I completed the majority of my clinicals in MI and went to Saint Joseph Mercy Oakland for Internal Medicine Residency. I had an interest in Allergy and Immunology and spent 2 years at Ohio State doing research and worked as a Hospitalist. My wife matched at DMC for residency, so I moved back to Michigan and worked as a Hospitalist at DMC for 3 more years. I transitioned to preventative care to avoid hospital admissions for my patients in the fall of 2019 when I joined the academic faculty at WSU. I also helped pilot an addiction medicine inpatient team with my IM and ER colleagues. I learned Point of Care Ultrasound diagnostic techniques to accelerate care for my patients at the start of the COVID pandemic and began to teach basic skills to internal medicine residents later that year. I became board certified in Obesity and Addiction Medicine to better provide comprehensive care for my patients in metro Detroit.
