August 23, 2025 - "I have only had two visits with Dr. Thompson. I found this one significantly more productive than the first, and was impressed with how well she reviewed my chart beforehand. She would have to in order to have a good visit, as I had not seen her in several years. We spoke extensively about my medications and complicated situation, and listened very carefully to the reports I gave her about conversations with other specialists. I appreciate that when we spoke about the first visit, she heard my feedback and didn't seem to take it personally. At the time, I knew something was wrong, but didn't know the source. She'd insisted I did not have the presenting assumed diagnosis, and it hit me hard as it was identical clinically. Now I know what the cause is [...], and although the presentation is the same and it all makes sense now, it is not technically what people were calling it before. I know that is vague and confusing, but the point is that she heard why I'd been upset.[...] It was cathartic to be able to tell her I figured it out, AND be heard and have it be accepted. That takes professionalism and maturity, and it never goes unnoticed by me."
