    Abbas Bitar is a Clinical Lecturer in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. He received his undergraduate and medical degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. He received his training in cardiovascular disease at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation training at the University of Michigan. He joined the faculty in 2017. Dr. Bitar is actively engaged in clinical practice and clinical research in the areas of heart failure, heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. His research interest focuses on modeling outcomes of early post-operative complications for heart failure patients, being evaluated for advanced heart failure therapies, using a combination of risk stratification and by understanding the underlying pathophysiology
