Ben E. Biesterveld, M.D. is a faculty member in the Section of Transplant Surgery.
Dr. Biesterveld received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Michigan and transplant surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons.

Research Overview
r. Biesterveld's research focuses on organ resuscitation and limiting ischemia reperfusion injury with the goal of improving the quality of transplanted organs and making more organs suitable for transplantation. He completed a 2-year research fellowship at the University of Michigan focusing on hemorrhage resuscitation and ischemia reperfusion injury.
