Diabetes Devices: Tandem
There are two ways to upload your Tandem pump data: wirelessly using the smartphone app, or manually by connecting your pump to a computer. Choose the one that fits your setup.
- If you use your smartphone as a receiver device for your Tandem pump, you can upload data wirelessly using the Tandem mobile app. This is the most convenient method and does not require a USB cable.
- If you prefer to upload your Tandem pump data using a computer, or if you do not use the smartphone app, you can connect your pump directly using the Tandem USB cable. Follow the steps below to complete a manual upload through the Tandem Source website.
Important: Once your data is available in Tandem Source, use the "Glooko: Insulin Pumps" instructions to link the data to our clinic. If you chose to share your data via Tandem Source without using Glooko, you will need to send your pump serial number and date of birth to your diabetes care team to share your data with the clinic. Please do this through a secure Patient Portal message.

Upload via Smartphone App
Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download the Tandem Mobi Mobile App or the Tandem t:slim Mobile App, depending on your pump model.
*Note: The Glooko app will also be required.
Enter your username and password, or tap "Create new account" if you haven't signed up yet. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish signing into your account.
Once connected, your pump will upload data automatically without a wire. No further action is needed after the initial setup — your data will sync on its own.
Once your data is linked to Tandem Source you also need to connect Tandem Source to Glooko in order for your data to sync with your Michigan Medicine medical record. Although Glooko is preferred to ensure your care team has access to your data, you can alternatively provide us with your pump serial number and your date of birth to allow us access to your data.
Upload directly from your pump
Open a web browser on your computer and navigate to source.tandemdiabetes.com.
Enter your username and password, or click "Create new account" if you haven't signed up yet.
Plug your pump into your computer using the Tandem USB cable.
In the menu on the website, click "Upload Pump," then click "Start Upload." Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the process. We need your pump serial number and your date of birth in order to be able to pair your Tandem Source account with our clinic account.
