Diabetes Devices: Medtronic
You can upload data from your Medtronic 770G or 780G pump to Medtronic CareLinkTM Personal using one of two methods: automatic uploads through the MiniMedTM Mobile app, or manual uploads using a computer and the CareLink uploader. Both methods will make your data available for your care team to review.
Your CareLink account must be connected to our clinic before we can view your data. Please send the username and password associated with your CareLink account to your diabetes care team through a Patient Portal message so we can link your account to our clinic. You only need to complete this connection step one time — if you have already connected your CareLink account to our clinic, you are all set.
- Go to the Medtronic website: Open a web browser and navigate to the CareLink site medtronicdiabetes.com/carelink.
- Sign in or create an account: Log in to your existing CareLink Personal account, or create a new one if you do not already have one.
- Send your login info to your care team: Write down your CareLink email/username and password and send it to your diabetes care team via the Patient Portal so we can connect you to our clinic account.

Connect via App
If you use the MiniMed™ Mobile app, your pump can upload data automatically to your CareLink account without needing to plug the pump into a computer. This is the most convenient option and happens in the background, usually every 24 hours, as long as your phone is nearby and connected to the internet.
Open the MiniMed™ Mobile app: Launch the MiniMed™ Mobile app on your smartphone.
Open the menu: Tap the menu icon — the three horizontal lines — to open the navigation menu.
Go to Sync to CareLink™: Select Sync to CareLink™ from the menu options.
Enable the toggle: Make sure the toggle switch is turned on. This enables automatic uploads to your CareLink account, usually every 24 hours.
Once this toggle is on, your pump history will upload to CareLink automatically. Your care team will be able to see your reports without you needing to do anything further.
Upload via Computer
If you do not use the MiniMed™ Mobile app, or if your care team asks you to complete a manual upload, you can upload your pump data using a desktop or laptop computer and the CareLink uploader tool. You will need your CareLink login information and your Medtronic CareLink USB or compatible device.
*Patients can buy a Medtronic CareLink USB dongle directly from Medtronic. The 770 and 780G pumps both use the blue USB dongle.
Log in to CareLink: Go to medtronicdiabetes.com/carelink and log in to your CareLink Personal account.
Install the uploader: Click "How to Install Uploader" and download the uploader application. Follow the prompts to install it on your computer.
Plug in your device: Connect your Medtronic CareLink USB or compatible blood glucose meter to your computer.
Upload now: Select "Upload Now" on the CareLink home screen and follow the on-screen prompts. If asked to put your pump into upload mode, go to the pump menu, find CareLink, and follow the instructions. If a code appears on your pump, enter it when prompted on your computer.
When the upload is complete, your CareLink reports will be available in your account and visible to your care team.
