James R. Holmes, MD expanded his appointment to full time faculty member in 2009, with the section of Foot & Ankle Surgery. A 1991 graduate of the Michigan Orthopaedic Residency program, Dr. Holmes completed a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at the University of Washington. Currently, he is Chief of the Foot and Ankle Service and Medical Director of the South Main Ambulatory Care Unit. Dr. Holmes serves on both the Resident Educational Committee and the department’s peer review body. His research interests include ligamentous injuries of the foot and ankle, imaging algorithms in the evaluation of common pedal complaints, and pathophysiology of attritional tendonopathies about the ankle.
