About
Dr. Heidi Burns is a board-certified psychiatrist in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. After her medical training, she continued her post-grad education as an NIH Fogarty Fellow in Ghana, where she conducted global mental health research on suicide prevention. She holds a clinical faculty appointment in the division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Michigan Medicine, and is the Assistant Director of Pediatric Consult-Liaison Psychiatry. Dr. Burns specializes in emergency psychiatry and global mental health. Her primary role is to lead clinical and educational initiatives focused on improving access to child and adolescent mental health care, locally and globally.
