Kat Bennett, ACPNCP-BC, is a Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiac Surgery Department at the University of Michigan Frankel Cardiovascular Center in Ann Arbor. Prior to joining U of M, Kathryn practiced as a post-surgical cardio-thoracic registered nurse (RN) for five years at the University of Michigan. She also worked on a HRSA federally funded gerontology grant while obtaining her Master of Science degree. After graduation, she worked in primary care, with clinical interest in cardiology and geriatric medicine, before rejoining the University. She serves as a preceptor for local nurse practitioner programs, and as a coinvestigator in upcoming percutaneous mitral innovation trials. Kat enjoys spending time with her family, along with reading and travel.
