Kara Rae Mizokami-Stout, MD

Kara Mizokami-Stout, MD, MSc is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine with an appointment in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology, and Diabetes. She attended medical school and internal medicine residency at the University of Colorado. She then completed her endocrinology fellowship at the University of Michigan. She joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in 2017 and has a dual appointment at the Ann Arbor VA.

Dr. Mizokami-Stout’s practice focuses on type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and general endocrinology. She also conducts health services research in the field of diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, diabetes technologies including insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, and automated insulin delivery devices.

University of Michigan Health participates with most health insurance plans.

Dr. Mizokami-Stout’s research interest is in diabetes health services research with a particular focus on implementing technologies to improve diabetes self-management and prevent diabetes complications.
