About
Dr. Haefner is the Harold A. Furlong Professor in Women's Health and the Chief of the Division of Gynecology at the University of Michigan. She completed medical school, an obstetrics and gynecology residency, and a gynecologic pathology fellowship at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Haefner is the past president of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. She has been recognized for her teaching as well as her clinical care of patients.

Dr. Haefner specializes in vulvar diseases and performs surgeries for many precancerous conditions of the vulva.

Research Overview
Dr. Haefner's research focuses on vulvovaginal conditions such as high grade squamous intraepithelial lesions, lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, and hidradenitis suppurativa of the vulva. She is also interested in helping children and adolescents with gynecologic malignancies.
