About
Dr. Sara Fossum is Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology and a board-certified dermatologist in the Michigan Medicine Department of Dermatology. She provides medical dermatology diagnosis and treatment to patients of all ages in our medical dermatology outpatient clinics. She has special interests in complex medical dermatology including the care of patients with bullous skin disease and hidradenitis suppurativa.
Dr. Fossum is a graduate of the Medical Scientist Training Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine where she received her medical degree and PhD degree in life sciences. Following graduation, she completed her preliminary year internship in internal medicine at Northshore University Health System in Evanston, Illinois, and her dermatology residency at the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology, where she served as co-chief resident in her final year. Dr. Fossum joined the U-M Dermatology faculty in January 2023.
