About
Dr. Bynum is the Margaret Terpenning Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatric Medicine, Research Professor in the Institute of Gerontology, Geriatric Center Associate Director for Health Policy and Research, and a member of the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation. She received her medical and public health degrees from Johns Hopkins, did her residency and chief residency at Dartmouth, and completed specialty training in Geriatric Medicine at Johns Hopkins. At University of Michigan, Dr. Bynum has a robust NIH-funded research program including a NIA Center for Aging and Demography of Alzheimer’s Disease, called the Center to Accelerate Population Research in Alzheimers (CAPRA), for which she is the principal investigator. Dr. Bynum became Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs for the Department of Internal Medicine in 2021.
