    Dr. Jessica Naftaly is a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical instructor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Naftaly is passionate about providing patient-centered and trauma-informed care as part of a patient’s interdisciplinary gastroenterology team. She specializes in treating patients with a variety of GI concerns such as inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and esophageal disorders. Dr. Naftaly uses evidence-based treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and gut-directed relaxation. Treatment goals are made collaboratively with the patient and may include decreasing frequency/intensity of GI symptoms, improving quality of life, and learning coping skills.

    Dr. Naftaly is actively involved in the Rome Foundation Psychogastroenterology Section and the Michigan Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. She enjoys mentoring trainees, advocacy work, and conducting program development.
