    Dr. Amanda Wanous joined the University of Michigan after completing her fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Wanous received her bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and physiology at the University of Minnesota. She then attended medical school at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and pediatrics residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. During her fellowship, Dr. Wanous also completed a master’s degree in medical education. For research, Dr. Wanous is interested in medical education, specifically using simulation and innovative methods for teaching procedures required for neonatal resuscitation.

    Dr. Wanous joined the faculty in the University of Michigan Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine in 2024. She primarily takes care of babies in the Brandon Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. She also sees families for prenatal counseling in the Fetal Diagnostic Center.
