    Lu Evergreen (they/them), LMSW, LISW, CNP is a social worker for the Comprehensive Gender Services Program (CGSP) at Michigan Medicine. In this role Lu provides gender-affirming therapy to patients, writes and reviews support letters for gender-affirming surgeries, facilitates support groups and participates in educational events through the Michigan Medicine health system and in the greater community.

    Lu graduated with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago in 2010 and became a licensed social worker in 2016. Lu specializes in doing strengths-based therapy with LGBTQIA+ folks and/or those who have experienced trauma. They are trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. Lu received a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential in 2019 for specialized education in nonprofit management.

    Lu is committed to helping create systemic changes that will make this world a friendlier place for QTBIPOC folks and others on the margins of our society. In their free time, Lu enjoys spending time with their loved ones, camping, hiking, growing food, foraging, and appreciating the natural world.
