    Dr. Andrea (Flynn) Franson received her bachelor's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York and her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed her residency in pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). During fellowship, she earned a master's degree in Pharmacology from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. While at CHOP, she was an Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation Center of Excellence Scholar, through which she had mentored training in clinical trial design and pharmacology. Dr. Franson has focused her research efforts in translational research science, working to transition the most promising compounds into the clinic for children with cancer.

    Research Overview

    Dr. Franson is involved in clinical and translational research in the treatment of children with solid tumors. She aims to use pre-clinical data to understand biologically relevant dosing of novel compounds, specifically in children. She is involved in the design and implementation of early phase clinical trials and correlate biology studies that complement these clinical trials.
