About
Dr Allexan grew up in Denver, Colorado. Her undergraduate studies at Kalamazoo College brought her to Michigan. Dr. Allexan studied abroad in Quito, Ecuador where she became fluent in Spanish. She returned to the University of Colorado School of Medicine for medical school. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Michigan. Since finishing residency, Dr. Allexan worked as a traveling physician in primary care at a federally qualified health center in Napa, California with a predominantly migrant farmworker population. She also worked as primary care physician and newborn hospitalist at a rural health center in Oregon. She enjoys general medicine, pediatrics, preventative care, addiction medicine and women’s health. Dr. Allexan performs contraceptive care including Nexplanon insertions She also treats opiate use disorder. She welcomes Spanish-speaking patients.
In her leisure time she enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, hiking, speaking Spanish and spending time with her husband and daughter.
