About
Devin L. Brown, M.D., M.S. is a Professor of Neurology and Director of the Vascular Neurology Fellowship Program at the University of Michigan Medical School. Her research interests include sleep disorders in stroke patients, behavioral interventions for stroke patients, health disparities research, and acute stroke therapy. She has served as a principal investigator of many NIH-funded projects. Dr. Brown is Co-Chair of the NIH StrokeNet Training & Education Core and is a member of the NIH StrokeNet Recruitment and Retention Core. Dr. Brown's honors include the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation McDevitt Excellence in Research Award, Frankel CVC Directors Awards of Excellence Education Award, MICHR Exemplary Team Science Award, League of Education Excellence, Clinical and Health Services Research Dean’s award, International Stroke Conference Outstanding Stroke Research Mentor Award, and Stroke Outstanding Reviewer Award. She has over 200 peer-reviewed publications, and is an editorial board member of Stroke. She served on the Board of Directors of the ANA and currently serves on the Governance Council.

Research Overview
Dr. Brown is a multiple principal investigator of Sleep SMART, a large NIH-funded clinical trial implemented through StrokeNet. She also serves as an M-PI of SCOUTS3, projects that investigate sleep, sleep apnea, and sleep apnea endotypes after stroke, and the University of Michigan Regional Coordinating Center as part of StrokeNet.
