As an addiction psychiatrist, my clinical activity focuses on the treatment of substance use disorders. Much of this takes place in the University of Michigan Addiction Treatment Services (UMATS) clinic, the Michigan Medicine, inpatient Addiction Consult Team, and the Partnering for the Future, a multidisciplinary obstetrics (OB) clinic which offers OB, psychiatric, and care management services.

I have a particular interest in psychodynamic therapy. I enjoy helping people to understand the way life experiences and personality structure contribute to common, repeating patterns in their lives. The goal is to use this information to help people identify ways to adjust life toward greater consistency with their values and goals.
