About
George Mashour is an anesthesiologist and NIH-funded neuroscientist at the University of Michigan, where he is a professor of anesthesiology, professor of pharmacology, and an active faculty member in the Neuroscience Graduate Program. Mashour has held numerous medical school and university leadership roles. He currently serves as Senior Associate Dean for Faculty at the University of Michigan Medical School. He previously served as Chair of Anesthesiology from 2019-2024 and Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Research from 2015-2019. He founded the Center for Consciousness Science in 2014 and the Michigan Psychedelic Center in 2022, which he currently directs.
