Emily Kay Chapin, NP

Emily has lived and worked in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area since 2003, but grew up in Battle Creek Michigan. She currently lives in Ypsilanti with her partner and daughter. Her hobbies include pottery and baking (especially pies).

Education:
She graduated from the University of Michigan's School of Literature Science and the Arts in with a bachelor degree in Psychology in 2007. After working as a health educator for four years, Emily returned to the University of Michigan School of Nursing for a bachelor degree in Nursing. She again returned to the University of Michigan School of Nursing for her doctor of Nursing Practice degree and teaching certificate, graduating in 2019.

Work experience:
Emily began her career as a registered nurse at Planned Parenthood. Her doctorate capstone project investigated policy and service implementation recommendations for HIV prevention in adolescents and young adults. Emily has served as clinical faculty for graduate students at the University of Michigan School of Nursing and worked with Packard Health as a primary care provider for over two years. She currently works with the Chronic Pelvic Pain and Gynecology teams at the Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital as board certified Family Nurse Practitioner.

Emily works with patients to help define and achieve their unique wellness goals. She seeks to create a safe space where patients can be themselves without judgement and know that they are getting excellent evidence-based healthcare.
