About
Dr. Nasser Yaghi is Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of Neurosurgical Oncology at University of Michigan Health-Sparrow in Lansing.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed Neurosurgery residency at Oregon Health and Science University and went on to complete fellowship in Neurosurgical Oncology under the mentorship of Dr. Nader Sanai at the Barrow Neurological Institute.
Dr. Yaghi’s clinical interests include resection of benign and malignant brain tumor, with special interest in eloquent cortex brain tumors requiring intraoperative language and motor mapping. He has a strong research interest in glioma immunotherapy and has previously worked in the laboratories of Dr. Amy Heimberger at MD Anderson Cancer Center with an HHMI grant and Dr. Mark Gilbert at the National Institutes of Health. He has most recently developed skills in early phase clinical trials for drug development at the Ivy Brain Tumor Center.
When not at work Dr. Yaghi loves to spend his time exploring hiking trails, trail running, long distance biking, mountain biking, fly fishing, and snowboarding. His family owns and operates a pizzeria business in Texas called Yaghi’s Pizzeria in which all family members have worked, and recently his family has entered the cattle business with a cattle ranch in Western Colorado.Locations
