About
Dr. Peoples joined the Department in 2010. With a career focused on graduate medical education, she is involved in anesthesiology curriculum development, teaching, and mentoring. After serving as the Internship Director and an Associate Program Director for eight years, Dr. Peoples became Program Director of the University of Michigan Anesthesiology Core Residency Program in 2021. She has also been an Associate Clinical Director of the University Hospital Operating Rooms since 2013. Her clinical practice is primarily focused within the Division of Head and Neck Anesthesia. Her teaching and academic areas of interest include simulation, professional identity formation, and well-being curriculum. Dr. Peoples serves nationally as a member of the American Board of Anesthesiology’s BASIC Exam Committee as well as a Senior Editor for the BASIC Exam Item Development Project. She has authored publications focusing on anesthesiology education and assessing the effectiveness of airway management risk assessment. Her clinical and academic efforts are focused on enhancing the care of patients with complex airway pathology and optimizing the training of future generations of Anesthesiologists.
