Research Overview
Dr. Desch's research interests focus on a better understanding of human genetic variation leading to disorders of bleeding or thrombosis. His laboratory has recently identified new genetic risk factors for thrombosis and further characterized the function of critical proteins in the hemostatic pathway. Dr. Desch's clinical interests include the use of whole-genome sequencing for clinical decision making in critically ill newborns.
