    Dr. Saini is a general gastroenterologist and health services researcher. His clinical practice is based primarily at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. His research focuses on developing and testing interventions to reduce the use of low-value care as well as strategies to improve access to resource-limited specialty care services (such as gastrointestinal endoscopy). He uses a variety of methodological approaches in his work, including simulation modeling, mixed-methods, and implementation science. He also has a strong interest in mentoring and career development and currently serves as primary mentor to two NIH K awardees and one VA Career Development Awardee. He is the Director of the VA Ann Arbor HSR Center for Clinical Management Research (CCMR), one of the nation’s leading VA Centers of Innovation (COINs).
