U-M Family Medicine offers Care on Demand hours for ALL U-M Family Medicine patients. At this time, the care team are unable to treat individuals who do not currently see a U-M Family Medicine primary care provider.
We know that you’re busy and sickness doesn’t always happen during business hours. We’ve opened our clinic for same day virtual first appointments on Saturdays to make your week a little bit easier.
At the Care on Demand clinic, you’ll see a member of the Family Medicine team. The physician or physician assistant treating you will have complete access to your medical record and a strong working relationship with your primary physician. They can provide diagnoses and non-emergent services for all U-M Family Medicine patients.
Physicians at the Care on Demand clinic are unable to process FMLA or disability paperwork or prescribe chronic pain medication refills.

The Family Medicine Care on Demand Clinic can provide diagnoses and non-emergent services for all U-M Family Medicine patients such as:
- Allergies
- Colds, coughs, sore throats and ear aches
- Eye infections
- Fever
- Lab and x-ray
- Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea
- Screening of chronic diseases
- Sprains and simple broken bones
- Skin rashes
- Simple lacerations
- Urinary tract infections
If you are in doubt about the seriousness of an injury or have any of the following conditions, please visit the nearest hospital emergency room or call 911:
- Chest pain
- Difficulty breathing
- Loss of consciousness
- Seizures
- Severe bleeding or pain
- Severe fractures or lacerations
