Michigan Medicine uses several different communication tools to provide updates on a range of things, from communicating with patients about their health care, to keeping in touch with our medical school alumni, sharing information about breakthroughs and advances in research with peers and collaborators, and more.
You may choose to stop receiving communications from us by following the opt-out instructions that will be included in all communications we may send you.
MyUofMHealth Patient Portal Communication Preferences
You can control how you receive communications from our MyUofMHealth patient portal, including whether you receive emails, phone calls or text messages with notifications and updates.
To manage your patient portal communication preferences, log into your MyUofMHealth patient portal account, select Menu and scroll down to Communication Preferences.
Email Subscriptions and Other Email Preferences
Michigan Medicine, including our various hospitals, departments, centers and institutes, offers a variety of free email newsletters.
To control what emails you receive, click the “Manage Preferences” or “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email you received.
Text Message / SMS Preferences
University of Michigan Health uses text messages to communicate with individuals about their relationship with University of Michigan Health, including patient care related updates related to your visits, MyUofMHealth Patient Portal account, one-time passcode, billing notifications, prescription reminders, and care management.
You can opt-out of SMS messages by texting STOP to the respective number you received the text from. Your opt-out request will generate one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You will no longer receive SMS messages from the number you opted out from.
For patient care related text messages, if you opt-out and wish to join again, sign up from within the MyUofMHealth Patient Portal or text HELP to the respective number for instructions.
If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly on the Contact Us page.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency may vary.
