About
Dr. Brummel is a general and preventive cardiologist in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Michigan. He sees patients in the Preventive Cardiology Clinic at Domino's Farms and at the Briarwood Health Center Cardiology Clinic. He also has expertise in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.
Dr. Brummel is a native Michigander who grew up on the shore of Lake Michigan. He obtained a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan after studying biochemistry. He completed medical school at Northwestern University and Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Chicago. After his time in Chicago, he returned to the University of Michigan for his Cardiology Fellowship. After completing his fellowship he was thrilled to stay on as a clinical cardiologist at the University. His clinical interests include general cardiology, lipidology, preventive cardiology, and echocardiography. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, cardiovascular disease, clinical lipidology, and echocardiography and his research focuses on quality improvement within those domains.
When not in the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing with his dogs, and trail running.
