About
Dr. McCarthy is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed both psychiatry residency and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where she subspecialized in perinatal psychiatry. Dr. McCarthy is part of a new partnership between the perinatal psychiatry team and the U-M Congenital Heart Center Psychosocial and Educational Program (M-COPE) at Mott Children’s Hospital, and will be providing psychiatric care to parents of children with congenital heart disease. She is also a consultation-liaison psychiatrist at the Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center and enjoys working with medical students, residents, and fellows.
