Cancer Center Parking Structure (P1) West Medical Center Drive

  • Located next to the Cancer Center
  • For Cancer Center patients and the family and friends who accompany them to appointments.
  • Monday - Friday – 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • Saturday - Sunday – 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

University Hospital/Taubman Center Parking Structure (P2/P3) East Medical Center Drive

  • Next to the front entrance of University Hospital and the Taubman Center, convenient access to the connector to the new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital
  • P2 is only for patients, family, visitors
  • Staffed by parking attendants
  • Open 24 hours, 7 days a week

Cardiovascular Center Parking Structure (P5) Ann Street at Observatory Street

  • Located directly below the Cardiovascular Center (CVC) – Enter near CVC front entrance
  • For CVC patients and visitors
  • Open 24 hours, 7 days a week

Kellogg Eye Center Parking

  • Located next to the Kellogg Eye Center
  • Parking on the south side of the building offers space for drop-off and pick-up and valet parking
  • Additional patient parking is available in the front rows of parking lot on the north side of the building
  • All patient parking at the Ann Arbor location is free of charge in the areas designated specifically for patient
  • Open 24 hours, 7 days a week

Patient/Family/Visitor Parking Rates

Changes have been made to parking rates and the parking validation procedure at the U-M Hospitals and Health Centers. These changes are expected to reduce the number of people who need parking validation, and are being made to simplify and enhance the total parking experience for all patients, families, and visitors. For U-M Health System patients, families, and visitors, the following rates will go into effect for non-validated tickets:

  • First 4 hours $2.00
  • 4 – 6 hours $3.00
  • 6 – 8 hours $5.00
  • 8 or more hours, up to 24 hours, $20.00

Validation is not required for anyone parking 4 hours or less. A flat rate of $2.00 will be charged during this period. For those parking more than four hours, a validated parking ticket will provide the parker a discounted parking rate of $2.00; $.50 for infusion patients; effective up to 24 hours. The following methods are available to help patients, families, and visitors receive discounted parking during their stay at UMHHC. Validation of parking spitter ticket:

  • $2 for most parkers,
  • $.50 for infusion patients.

Patients and family members may have their ticket validated on their way back to their car.  Central validation will be available at these locations:

  • Entrance Services Desk (UH/Taubman Main Entrance)
  • Registration Desks (1st, 2nd & 3rd floor Taubman Center)
  • Children’s & Women’s Hospitals Badging Stations

Validation will continue at the UH Main OR Family Waiting Room on level 1; the Cardiovascular Center central registration desk on level 3 and at clinics and points-of-service within the CVC; the Cancer Center central registration desk on level B2 and clinics and points-of-service within the Cancer Center; Radiology, Radiation Oncology & PM&R. Validation will be discontinued at all UH inpatient floors and most clinics.  

Valet Parking Service

Valet service is available, for a fee, for patients, families, and visitors in some areas. Cars may be driven directly into the entrance drives at:

Emergency Department

  • 24 hours a day / 7 days a week

Hospital/Taubman Center

  • Monday - Friday 5 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Saturday - Sunday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Cancer Center

  • Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday - Sunday No valet service

Cardiovascular Center

  • Monday - Friday 5:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Saturday - Sunday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital

  • Monday - Friday 5:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Saturday - Sunday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Inpatient Parking Pass

  • Unit clerks, nurses or social workers on UH inpatient units, and Children’s and Women’s guest service staff can provide inpatient passes.
  • These passes allow users to come and go multiple times each day for one parking fee.
  • Passes are only for family and friends of patients. There is a maximum of four passes allocated to each patient.
  • Maximum parking fee: $2.00 each day
  • Maximum number of days visitor passes can be used: 14 day

Outpatient Day Pass

  • Passes may be obtained from Parking Attendants at the parking structure booth upon exit.
  • These passes are for outpatients who have multiple clinic appointments on the same day.
  • Passes allow users to exit multiple times for one reduced parking fee on their first exit.
  • These passes are valid for one day only and the maximum fee is $2.00 a day.

Financial Assistance

Fletcher Structure Patient Parking

At the Fletcher Street Structure, a restricted cashier-attended parking operation is available exclusively for patients of the School of Dentistry and University Health Service from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. You must have your parking ticket validated at the clinic(s) in order to prove patient status. Violators are fined $25 in addition to the parking fee.

Accepted Forms of Payment

Cash, check or credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover). We cannot accept Canadian currency or coins.

Radiation Therapy / MRI Parking

Radiation Therapy and MRI patients that are scheduled for nurse sedation may park in the Radiation Therapy / MRI Parking Lot free of charge. This lot is located just west of the Emergency Room entrance on East Medical Center Drive. A parking permit is required to park in the lot and may be obtained from the reception desk staff. You must display this permit hanging from the rear view mirror of the vehicle whenever the vehicle is parked in the lot. If you display the permit in another way, you may receive a parking citation. The parking lot is shared with Valet Services, so please park only in spaces marked "Rad. Therapy / MRI Patient." You should expect to be in MRI approximately 2 to 3 hours.

Parking for People with Disabilities

Accessible (Handicapped) Parking Accessible parking spaces are available at all parking structures. The usual fees apply. The only exception is for individuals with a "FREE PARKING" decal affixed to their State-issued handicap placard.

Oversized Vehicle Parking

For those vehicles that are too large to fit into the parking structures at the University Hospital and Health Centers, daily parking can be purchased for $5.00 from Valet Services located at the University Hospital Circle Drive. Valet number: (734) 545-4615.

Recreational Vehicle (RV) Parking

RV parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Spaces may not be reserved, and there is no guarantee of space availability. RVs can park in the M29 lot on Nichols Drive (near the Arboretum). Vehicles must be self-contained and are prohibited from discharging liquid of any kind. To park at M29, Daily parking must be purchased for $5.00 from Valet Services, located at the University Hospital Drive. Valet number: (734) 545-4615.
